Colloquium on French Philosophy: the Given and Givenness II

For the second time now, the Colloquium on French Philosophy will take place at the IZPH this semester. The topic will be “The Given and Givenness”, which is captured in different ways by at least three interconnected fields of debate in France: the strong phenomenological tradition, the philosophy of Henri Bergson, and the Myth of the Given, as it is described by Wilfrid Sellars. The Colloquium will be completed by a workshop with Jocelyn Benoist (Paris I) and Markus Gabriel (Bonn), in which the participants will be able to converse about the given and givenness with two mayor proponents of the current debate.

Today Marta Cassina: Don et abandon. Jean-Luc Marions Phänomenologie der Gegebenheit.

The event begins at 6:15 p.m.

All presentations and discussions are held in German and English. The talk is free of charge and open to the public, everyone interested is cordially invited. Please register your participation with the organisers.
