Since 2009 the International Centre for Philosophy NRW hosts an annual lecture of excellence in honour of Ernst Robert Curtius. This event consists of two parts, a lecture and a colloquium. Our guest speaker this year is Professor Dr. Rüdiger Safranski (FU Berlin).

Lecture: “Über die Zeit”, November 5th, 6 p.m. (Hörsaal 1, Hauptgebäude, Am Hof 1). The talk is free of charge and open to the public.

Colloquium: November 6th , 2015, 12 p.m. (Department for Philosophy, Room 1.070, Hauptgebäude, Am Hof 1).

Since 2012, Rüdiger Safranski is teaching at the FU Berlin. He is familiar to a broad public as a widely read philosophical author and as a TV host (e.g. Das Philosophische Quartett on ZDF or the broadcast Literaturclub on Swiss Television). His most recent book was released in August of this year “Zeit: Was sie mit uns macht und was wir aus ihr machen.”
